Is Simmons a good brand of binoculars?

I just bought a Swiss Army pocket knife by Victorinox and it came w/ a Simmons binocular. Just wanna know if this is a good brand cause I’m not familiar with any brand that is outdoors.

Btw, how good is a binocular that is 8x power magnification, 21mm objective lens, 372′ Field of View at 1000 yards, and fully coated lenses?

Thanks =)

Not even close to top 3. Simmons is about on par with Bushnell. Top 3 would be Zeiss, Swarovski and Leica.

Fully coated lens is the lowest grade for coating. It goes like this, from low to high
1. Fully coated, means all elements are single coated
2. Multi coated, means a single element is multi coated
3. Fully Multi coated, means all elements are multi coated.

The other determining factor is the design of the bino, if that 8×21 is porro, for a freebie it’ll most likely be better than a roof. Roof binos, those with parallel straight tubes, don’t get really good until you’re spending $150 or more. As a matter of fact I have a pair of $80 8×26 bino that works just as well as a pair of $150 roof of the same power. The roof just looks prettier and more waterproof.

But, ya know, it’s free, anything free is good =]

They didn’t give me anything when I bought my Cybertool 90 Victorinox.
